I must apologize for the bland nature of this blog. I wanted to get it up as quickly as I could and new headers will come in the near future. :)
I'm the first to admit I hate talking about myself. However, a blog makes it a bit easier to do so. The purpose of this blog is to connect with those who appreciate my artwork, may wish to commission work or who may wish to speak to a fellow artist.
First, I'm Morgana and if you've found your way here I hope to hear from you. I'm an almost 36 year old mom of one son who's 16 and married to the man of my dreams ;) Obviously, I'm a graphic artist but beyond that I'm so much more. I'm a musician, vocalist actually. Genre of choice is black/goth/death metal. My husband, Morien, is a brilliant guitarist and I love that we can share our interests in almost everything!
My art style will make itself known soon enough, but in the mean time I'll try to describe it to you..
Darkly Decadent is an epiphany I had just in the last day or two. I'm known to do images that feature elegant vamps, the romanticism of the undead captured me long ago and that is what tends to come forth. If you've come here via MtA, then you know I do much more than that. Everything from gothy toons to pinups, both mundane and fantastical, get sent to me via the muse. I no longer fight her on those pieces, she tends to get angry and go off drinking absinthe for weeks on end if I do. No muse = no work gets done! Despite that I still I have dry spells where nothing comes together as I envision it. After 7 years I'm used to that aspect of being an artist. If you would like to see me tackle a given genre though I will certainly give it a try.
Most of my inspiration comes from 2 things: Music and my family. I am fortunate to have a wonderful man at my side. Gothic Romance imagery comes to me as easy as breathing. I owe him and my son so much. They are my strength and carry a fierce belief in me even when my own belief fails me. As far as music goes, I see beauty where most don't. I've been known to toss Cradle of Filth onto the mp3 player and create some of the most hauntingly beautiful images. Never doubt there is beauty in darkness, for there is.
Today I was lucky enough to finish a piece that I am insanely proud of. That, dear reader, is what I shall leave you with.
