Of Black Cats and Dance

Once again, it's been a while but I have a damn good excuse LOL. I'm in the midst of planning a gothic/horror/halloween wedding with a Gothic Tea Party shower for a girl friend of mine. You can read the adventure so far over at Nocturnal Nuptials.

On top of that the Body Lyrics Bellydance Student Troupe is hosting our very first hafla on September 25th! Myself and all the other ladies are SO stoked. In 25 days we'll ALL have performance experience. Several of the other troupes in the area are coming out in support as well.

Also, this week, Onca put out a call for help with planning Americana Burlesque and Sideshow Festival 2011. She needs people to help with social networking and helping to plan the Sunday Brunch as well as a few other things. Since I have totally fallen in love with all things dance, I volunteered my services. She and I will be meeting up after Halloween to discuss it all. In trying to work out some details she asked me if I was going to TribO.

Now as many of you know I've looked forward to TribO for months! Some things that were supposed to pan out didn't. So I had decided, for the good of my family, that I wouldn't go this year and would go next year. Well...as it turns out I WILL be going.

There's a few hundred people that go to TribO every year and as you can imagine that's a LOT of food that needs to be prepared. They bring in Chef Oso for it but obviously they need help doing prep work. So Onca asked me, if she could get me student passes which would allow me to do some classes and see the shows, if I would be willing to come help them out in the kitchen. After I stopped squealing like a school girl, I have not just jumped, but leaped at the chance!

My fellow bellydancers probably understand just exactly why I feel this way. Onca is an amazing dancer and the chance to work with her, on both TribO and ABSFest is an amazing opportunity.

Oh yes, life is DEFINITELY good! An amazing husband, 2 wonderful children and a place where I feel I truly belong. It doesn't get better than that.

I will be taking plenty of pictures of both the hafla and at TribO so expect a deluge of beautiful imagery in a month!
