These are two VERY accomplished classical musicians. 1.6 million views in 8 days, that's pretty fuckin impressive, IMHO.

There's video on youtube now of my dance troupe from our second hafla as well. If you want to see it just drop a comment and I'll send a link ;) You have to remember though it was only our 2nd time performing. We also weren't on our "home turf" as it were.

Now I can reveal some things I hinted at in the last post. My future daughter-in-law is now a member of my belly dance troupe. We got her a gift cert. for Xmas, as well as a hip scarf AND I gave her a set of Peruvian ankle and wrist slave bracelets. Since that was what I chose to give my troupemates. So the tribe is getting stronger!

I also can reveal that I'll most likely be getting my very first art showcase at the Saturday show during ABSFest. Onca thinks my dollies will go over well. So, I'm needing to get my ass in gear to create some new deranged dollies. YAY!

I've been helping with promotion for ABSFest as well. Performer apps are due on the 1st of Feb!

There's 2 HUGE events coming up over the next few months. The first being the 1st Annual Asheville Bellydance Fest. The other is the 1st Annual UBL convention. Mavi will be there teaching swords and Daveed will be doing a master drum workshop. The latter of which my beloved is attending. So April and May are going to be super busy for us.

I've also had to do a bit of replanning for my first solo. The entire show is around a theme and my warrior woman piece doesn't fit :( I'll do it at a later date, though! That just means I get to represent something that isn't present in this part of the state. Gothic Tribal! I'm SO stoked but can't decide on a song.

Hubby's birthday is coming up and I FINALLY found a top hat and cane that we both like. So that's his present. Yes he already knows. He needs them to play drum for my solo in our production.

We're also working on some original music for both the band and for his drumming/my dancing.

L.A. is growing so much. It seems like yesterday we were just bringing her home. Now she's hell on wheels. Literally!
