So things are a bit nutty around here right now. 2 weeks ago, Mercury Retrograde wreaked havoc, again. Motherboard went south, taking the Sata Controller with it, in turn it messed up the connector on my hard drive. Thankfully we were able to get my beloved's PC to boot the drive one final time so I could move everything onto the brand new external. Parts came in last Tuesday, but didn't get put in until Friday. Why you ask? Very simple, we did something I hadn't done in years. We went...on...
VACATION!!!!!
Oh yes we did ;)
3 days in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg TN in a hotel room with a massive jacuzzi! We took in the Ripley's Aquarium and the Believe it or Not museum. We had an absolute blast. It ended way too soon, but work calls so we reluctantly returned home on Thursday.
Since then I've been working on a piece that was commissioned before the PC went stupid. One of the Aromaleigh Diva's asked me to do a blog header for her, with a Deranged Dolly rendition of herself. I was so upset over the PC I even offered to send her back the $ if the wait was going to be too long for her. I refuse to spend any money until the work is done, just because things DO happen. Needless to say, I have delivered a sample of the final header for approval. I hope she likes it as I had a ton of fun putting it together for her!
I also found out while we were on vacation that my BellyDance troupe is performing THIS Friday. Eeeek! Yeah I think we'd all forgotten there was a possibility. Also, one of my lovely troupemates is getting married next Saturday and we're dancing at her wedding!! So two performances in 2 weeks. It's sounding a LOT like June LOL.
I got invited, several months back, to perform down around the Charlotte area. At a Heavy Metal Hafla, so of course, I jumped at the chance. Had my music picked out before I even committed to it, since there's a piece I have to be VERY careful where I perform it. We Will Raq You, hosted by the ladies of Damhsa Gasra, is THE perfect venue. It's campy, it's over the top, it includes my husband on stage with a cat o'nine for about 15 seconds AND there's monster fur. Can't get much crazier than that...well maybe you can. Still, it's going to be LOADS of fun!
The following weekend I'll be performing my second solo EVER at the production that Body Lyrics is putting on.
To say I'm busy is probably the understatement of the century. I'm loving it though. I'm learning so much about myself. The journey to the self has been absolutely amazing, shocking, surprising and breath taking. I am so incredibly lucky to have a husband who is supporting me so completely. Children that have made the journey so worth it. Friends and family who have gone out of their way, to make sure that I can continue on the path that has made me so very happy.
Yes, these are certainly interesting times ;)
